Would you mind clicking the above URL, Yoshy’s main Home Page? It includes lots of such interesting contents as Shihoya Bookstore, Café Corner, LL Shihoya Arai School, M-PEC, and Trivia in English, etc.

These exterior pictures attached here are permitted to public for reuse.

This poor translation into English is for both brushing up Yoshy’s proficiency and telling updates to my foreign friends. Yoshy’s several foreign friends are always checking this blog; wrong expressions found, an article of “Correction” has been uploaded here.

In this blog, Yoshy adds * (asterisk) at the vocabulary and expressions whose level are Eiken 2nd and over, and writes its explanation.

Japanized English?

Let’s try to find queer or wrong expressions we Japanese easily mistake, shall we?

Let’s eat out this night.”  --- ???

The 38th LL Speech Contest Interclass on Sep. 6 (Sun) Is Go!

*Pruning away *offshoots at Lawn-park, west side of LL Shihoya Arai School and the surrounding area began on Saturday, August 21st and was over on Friday, 28th. This picture, the northern side of Kin-ken Center was taken of last Tuesday, 25th.

On Friday, 28th, this was shot from Cherry-path to LL Shihoya Arai School. “Totoro’s Tree” once named by me seemed to be standing with a sad air to me.

Two big gingko trees also named “Ginkichi and Girako” which had stood between Arai S/H School and Erie were gone away. Well, this area must be going to be covered with concrete soon. I’m afraid *larvae of *cicadas may be *embarrassed now, how do you think? “”Ginkichi and Girako were the main casts of “Six Jizos” performed at M-PEC Festival in the year of 2008; it is available to see by clicking the site HERE.

*larvae [ˈlɑː.viː]larba [lάɚvə]:幼虫の複数形  *cicada [sɪkéɪdə, kάːdə]:蝉  *embarrassed [ɪmˈbær.əst](a) 当惑した、困惑した

“To be better appearance and to do *efficiently” has been greatly needed not only to nature but also to education. – E.g. how many times on the earth do we have to repeat “the reform of entrance examination system?” In my opinion, “First of all, *both high school and university entrance exams should be abolished right away. Then promotion or repeating the same grade should be decided upon his/her guts in the first year!”

*Recitation of beautiful and famous poems or essays would sure be “an invisible but *steady root of your big tree”, which means “the basis of *proficiency for vivid communication” in your near future.

As the proverb says, “Nobody is perfect. It is never too late to mend.” Especially when you are young, making mistakes before others would become a kind of *nutrition which would make you leap forward to next stage, I believe.

*nutrition [n(j)uːtríʃən]:栄養

“The reason we can walk is walking every day.”Every astronaut in zero G, I heard, makes a point of practicing walking without fail

“Daily work of CD-practicing, review of workbooks, learning English vocabulary skills, etc.” is as same as above.

11 300 Edison stamp

Let’s eat out this night.”  --- ???

答え:Let’s eat out for dinner.

“dinner” を使わなければ、Let’s eat out tonight. または、Let’s eat out this evening.
