10月18日(日)も、終日晴天、小春日和でした。再来週から、恒例の「ハロウイーン・タイム」をレッスンの中で楽しみます。
大きなカボチャをジャックの顔にしてみました。
The weather on Sunday, October 18th was fine or an Indian summer all day long, too. LL Shihoya Arai School is going to do the yearly “Halloween-time” in every class the week after next; where I’d like to have LL-students enjoy a lot.
ハロウイーン・キャンディをたくさん買いました。今回は、「英語絵本の語り＋ゲームなど」で、「次のページは、どんな展開になるかな?」を考えさせて、「発想力と表現力」をコンセプトにゲームを作ってみます。
今週は、清水洋子先生、ロリソンご一家、そして山下佳恵先生…からの絵本で、ハロウイーンにちなんだ絵本を探します。使わせて頂くたびに、ご寄贈者様に、いつも感謝しています。
R and I bought lots of Halloween-candies. As of now, I’ll use some of positive ideas: “Reading Picture-books attached with some games, etc.” I.e. … letting them suspect the next scenes, I hope they would be able to develop their “skills of imagination and expression”, which should be the concept this year. This week I’m looking for some suitable picture-books for this event-time presented from Ms. Yoko Shimizu, the Rollison-family and Ms. Yoshie Yamashita, etc. I always thank them very much whenever using them.

答え：Happy birthday! (Congratulations! は、本来、使用不自然です.)
「おめでとう！」即、Congratulations! と言ってしまいやすいのではないでしょうか？－
近年は、英語圏ですら無神経になってきていますが、本来は：「スポーツ、ビジネスなどで、相手や克服したかった課題、籤(くじ)運など」に挑戦した結果、勝利を収めたり、夢がかなったりした時にしか使わない表現です。
つまり、結婚式では、花婿に言うのは、問題ないのですが (あるかも…)、とりわけ、花嫁には(数々の遍歴を連想させますので、) 大きな声では言えませんね。(成人にだけ、わかるかな？(笑))
結婚式では、「末永くお幸せに！」： “Be Happy forever!”, “I wish you every happiness!”…あたりがいいですね。
